Important Safety & Comfort Information
Our Dana Point, CA whale watching zodiac-style boats are unique, and as such, has special safety information that differs from our other vessels.
-
Our Dana Point, CA whale watching zodiac-style RIBs offer a fun but bouncy and adventurous ride. For the comfort of younger children, the suggested minimum age for private charters is 4 years old. If your child is younger than 4, please contact us to discuss.
-
Because of the high-speed and fun (but bumpy) ride, all passengers should be in good overall health. We do not allow anyone who has head, neck, or back injuries, is pregnant, or has any current problem that could be aggravated by this type of ride.
If you have disabilities, or are not able to meet any of these conditions, please contact us to learn which boat will be best for your needs.
-
Safety is our priority. Both AllsWell and Fast Cat are U. S. Coast Guard inspected and certified to carry passengers.
-
Both Fast Cat and AllsWell are very low to the water so you may encounter ocean spray. We suggest keeping electronics, camera equipment, and any other items you don’t want wet, stowed and secure while the boat is underway. You’re welcome to bring a GoPro on the Dana Point cruise, and to prevent loss or damage when filming underwater, please wait until after the boat has slowed down and your Captain gives the OK.
-
Both of our zodiac-style RIBs (rigid inflatable boats) have ample cushioned seating for all passengers. However, space for stowing belongings is not available on our Dana Point, CA whale watching safaris. If your charter has a large group, we suggest you do not bring over-sized bags or coolers. Waist-packs, mini backpacks, and small camera sling bags are great examples of what to carry your belongings in.
-
Because the vessels offer a fast and bouncy ride, plastic bottle beverages that can be closed and easy-to-eat dry snacks that won’t be swept away by the wind, such as granola bars or cookies, are recommended. To prevent spills please do not bring open cans of drinks on our Dana Point cruises.
-
AllsWell has a small bathroom. There is no bathroom on Fast Cat. There are restroom facilities on land nearby that are available to use before boarding. We highly recommend taking advantage of the onshore bathrooms before getting on the boat for one of our Dana Point, CA whale watching cruises.
-
Zodiac-style RIBs (rigid inflatable boats) like Fast Cat and AllsWell have a very low center of gravity. For guests concerned about feeling seasick, this means the boat might feel more comfortable.
