Join our special Ocean Cleanup Safari aboard Fast Cat and enjoy up close encounters with Dana Point’s year-round wildlife, while also helping to remove deadly balloons, plastics, and other trash from the ocean.
We love marine life and are so thankful to encounter them in their natural habitat. One of the small ways we can all help protect that habitat it to keep it clean! There is a staggering amount of plastic pollution in the ocean. Billions of pounds of plastic can be found in swirling convergences making up about 40% of the world’s ocean surfaces.
This special whale watching and ocean cleanup trip will be limited to just 10 passengers!
Fast Cat is our upscale zodiac catamaran RHIB (rigid hull inflatable boat) perfect for adventurous types seeking a small group tour that will have you incredibly close to the ocean?s surface and within arm?s reach of wildlife. We’ll spend part of the trip viewing animals, and part of the trip removing trash from the ocean. Grab your GoPro and hop aboard this fast and fun dolphin and whale watching excursion, with up to 10 passengers, for an intimate 2.5 hour look at Dana Point’s year-round whales, dolphins, sea lions, sharks, birds, and more. With speeds up to 30 knots, you?ll spend less time looking for animals and more time enjoying them! U. S. Coast Guard inspected and certified for safety. Features heavily padded seats, large sunshade, and teak floors. And Mrs. Capt. Dave?s delicious Triple Fudge Brownies are served at the end of your safari.

Ocean Spray
Fast Cat is very low to the water, and as a result, you may encounter ocean spray during the cruise. Please keep electronics, camera equipment, and any other items you don’t want wet secure while the boat is underway. You’re welcome to bring a GoPro. To prevent loss or damage, please do not attempt underwater filming until after the boat has slowed down and your Captain gives the OK.
Personal Items
The boats have ample cushioned seating for all passengers. However, space for storing belongings is not available. Please do not bring oversized bags or coolers; limit what you bring to what you can fit on your lap. Waist-packs, mini backpacks, and small camera sling bags are good examples of what to carry your belongings in.
Food & Beverages
Because these vessels offer a fast and bouncy ride, we highly recommend beverages in reusable containers that can be closed and easy-to-eat dry snacks that won’t be swept away by the wind such as granola bars. To prevent spills please do not bring open cans of drinks.
Seasickness
The Ocean Cleanup Safari on our high-speed Zodiac-style boat Fast Cat offers a very low center of gravity. For guests concerned about seasickness, this means the experience might feel more comfortable.
